Bonita has more than 35 years’ clinical experience in echocardiography and a past 15-year tenure as an academic at the Queensland University of Technology where she coordinated the Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound. She is currently a Clinical Fellow at the School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and an Advanced Cardiac Scientist at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, Australia.

She is also the author of two Echocardiography textbooks which are used in teaching programs within Australia, the USA and Europe. She has edited and contributed to several other echocardiography textbooks and is a regular speaker at national and international echocardiographic conferences.
