Jens-Uwe Voigt has been trained in Germany, UK and US and works as staff cardiologist and appointed professor at the University of Leuven, Belgium, leading the echocardiography lab of the cardiovascular department of the University Hospitals and an imaging research group with several international fellows and PhD students. His field of interest is myocardial function imaging to which he contributed significantly in the past years. The current focus of his work is on clinical applications of high frame rate imaging, ventricular dyssynchrony and technical aspects of applied echocardiographic deformation imaging. JUV has published around 300 papers in pear reviewed international journals and is author and co-author of several echocardiographic text books and international recommendation papers. He received several national and European grants and is PI, co-author and core lab leader in H2020, FP7 and other European Multicenter Trials. JUV is in the Editorial Board of several international Journals such as Circulation, European Heart Journal and others. He has been actively involved in the Board of the European Association of Non-invasive Imaging as chair and committee member and was active in the ASE-EACVI-Task Force for Standardization of Strain Imaging. He organizes or is involved in the organization of several national and international annual meetings in the field of echocardiography in Belgium and Germany . JUV is Fellow of the ESC, Member and/or Nucleus Member of the EACVI, ASE and the national Belgian and German imaging and cardiology societies and Honorary Member of the British Society of Echocardiography.
