After completing medical school and residency, I undertook clinical training as a cardiologist in Japan. I have strong enthusiasm for research and completed my master’s degree at Mayo Clinic (Master in biomedical sciences – clinical & translational science) to improve my research skill. My research focus is valvular heart disease, and I am specialized in evaluating patients with aortic stenosis (AS) under the mentorship of Dr. Jae K Oh. I have been working on left ventricular remolding in the presence of high afterload associated with AS and related clinical outcomes. I have also been working at the Mayo Echo Core Lab directed by Dr. Jae K. Oh and am mainly involved in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) trials.
